“WE HAVE DEVELOPED AND PATENTED A POLE PULLER THAT COMBINES ALL THE BEST ATTRIBUTES OF THE TOOLS CURRENTLY ON THE MARKET INTO ONE VERSATILE TOOL. NOT ONLY THAT, BUT WE HAVE PULLED OVER 1200 POLES WITH THE ORIGINAL PROTOTYPE, PROVING IT’S EFFECTIVENESS AND DURABILITY”
Utility companies today are being faced with an ever growing problem: How to best remove old utility poles from the distribution system? The companies themselves quite often cannot devote the time and resources necessary for the task, and so end up hiring private contractors to do the job. These contracts can be anywhere from 1000 poles to an entire district or state.
HERE’S WHERE THE PROBLEM STARTS
There is no established and effective way to pull such a massive number of utility poles! The current pole pullers on the market are either too small, too big, too short, or too impractical to make them useful in every situation, day in and day out.
SO HOW ARE CONTRACTORS DOING IT?
If crews do the job correctly and use the existing equipment on the market, the speed which they can complete the job is slow. Too slow to make a significant profit, and riddled with frustrations and hassles as each pole presents a different challenge. Unfortunately, not every pole is 10 feet off the road on flat, dry ground.
So quite often crews use the boom on the truck to pull the pole because it’s quicker and easier, allowing a larger profit margin. Unfortunately this can seriously damage the boom, leading to costly repairs, and goes against the manufacturers guideline of never using the boom on an unknown load.
Or, (say it isn’t so) they cut the pole off at ground level and cover it with dirt, leaving a treated pole in the ground which goes against PUC and EPA regulations.
THERE IS NO CURRENT TOOL ON THE MARKET DESIGNED FOR MASS POLE REMOVAL. HERE’S WHERE WE COME IN.
